Introducing the serial extender from StarTech, allowing industrial users to increase the distance of connected devices by up to 1000 metres. This extender converts from RJ45 ethernet to RS232 serial connection.

• This extender bypasses typical length restrictions and can extend existing systems by up to 65x greater than a standard RS232 cable. With the possibility of up to a 3300ft cable extension, it's perfect for placing your peripheral devices where you like at a distance, and at no detriment to data transfer.

This serial converter permits 230Kbps data transfer rates and works with CAT5 or better ethernet cabling. It's a cost-effective solution to serial extension because there's no need to install any software, being completely hardware based. Simply plug-and-play.
