Maxim- MAX4890 Series

The MAX4890 series by Maxim Integrated contains high-speed analogue switches which meet the needs of 10/100/1000 Base-T applications. These uniquely designed devices are able to switch the signals from two interface transformers and are then able to connect the signals to a single of 10/100/1000 Base-T Ethernet PHY, this in itself simplifies docking station design and also reduces manufacturing costs.

The device is specially designed to also route signals from a common interface transformer to two different board in board-redundancy applications. Maxim’s MAX4890 switches can provide extremely low capacitance and on-resistance to meet Ethernet insertion and return-loss specifications.
