RS PRO Wrist ESD Tester

The RS PRO Compact wrist strap tester can be used to test the integrity of wrist straps, commonly used to protect personnel from electric shocks in ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protected workstations by providing a quick connection to the ground. LEDs and an audible alarm indicate whether the measured resistance is within the range specified by EN 61340-5-1, which is the accepted ESD protection standard for IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) member countries.
This tester is lightweight, portable and is powered by a 9 V PP3 battery. It can check whether the wristband is working and fitted properly on the wearer in the range of 750 k Ω to 35 M Ω resistance. It works safely at operating temperatures between +5°C and +30°C
ESD Protect Areas (EPAs), such as assembly or repair benches in ESD-sensitive device applications, require daily use of an ESD Tester for compliance with EN 61340-5-1 standards.
