A range of high-speed steel (HSS) straight flute hand taps from Dormer which are used to produce metric coarse threads in a variety of materials including steel, cast iron, copper, brass, aluminium alloys and plastics.

Threading taps are used to create threads for bolts in materials like metals and plastics. Threading taps work like a drill but due to the unique shape of a tap, when they are screwed into a piece of material screw threads are created.

Precision HSS taps to ISO529 designed to produce repeatable tolerance threads in most engineering materials. Suitable for medium/high rate production. All taps are to tolerance class 2, giving 6H fit (metric taps) or 2B fit (UNF & UNC taps)
